I know it’s very wrong, but today I wanted to jump out of the car and hit a boy over the head with the French baguette he was carrying and then run away with it and eat it – the baguette, not the boy that is! There were a few flaws in my plan, namely that, at my size, there is no ‘jumping’ out of the car – it’s more like a ‘shuffle and slide out in an ungainly heap’ sort of a manoeuvre. Then there is also the running away part – that would be more like a ‘waddle like a duck / penguin’ type of movement, something that you would see a child doing in a sack on sports day! So I left the child to his own devices and hoped that he wouldn’t choke on the lovely baguette!!
Cravings are a funny thing. I’ve now got my after weigh-in treat day to look forward to, but it never really goes according to plan. My cravings are something that need dealing with there and then, or else I forget about them – so come Tuesday I can’t really think of what to have! However as soon as Wednesday arrives so do the cravings. I’ve done really well this week and haven’t given in, despite there being a few occasions when I’ve logged onto Just Eat and have very nearly ‘just eaten’! I have just seen a nice looking recipe for SW style KFC made with HEB bread, herbs, garlic and chicken bovril which I’m going to try as one of my big cravings is KFC…the adverts are soooo inviting, and even though I’ve seen someone squeezing the fat out of a piece of KFC chicken (it was disgusting!) it doesn’t put me off. In order to solve the cravings and stick to my healthy eating, I’ve just got to find suitable alternatives. I know I can do curries and chow meins etc, but it’s stuff like doner kebabs, breaded mushrooms and onion rings I struggle with…all of the food that turns most people off, but the stuff I adore and used to make up the bulk of my diet…hence the bulk of me now! I know it’s crap and no good for you, but I can’t help finding it tasty. Some of what I used to eat I now don’t enjoy as much, so I’m hoping that continuing to eat SW style will help to change my taste buds and habits in the long run.
Changes in season also change what I want to eat – it’s now stew and dumplings, thick sliced toast, mince pies and Christmas pud! So I’ve been eating SW soups, stews and am even going to make an SW style scan bran cake with some mincemeat in so it tastes like a mince pie but is on plan, as one little diddly mince pie is 11 syns, but my whole cake will only be 4!
I will let you know how my Tuesday weigh-in goes, I have my fingers crossed for a good loss to keep me on track for my Christmas target!
