Not as naff as they used to be now that Links of London sell posh ones!
Oh, the hours I wasted as a teenager making these for friends – and frenemies! I could often be found with a safety pin stuck through embroidery silks hanging off my leggings…and would tuck myself up on the sofa, making these at the request of others, in a rainbow of colours. I then told my niece about them, and of course she wanted one! So off to eBay it was again, where I picked up a massive bag of silks for about £6. Now, it might not be the most adult of pastimes, but it took me back to a happy time and wastes so many hours! And as it’s so fiddly, I can’t eat whilst I am doing it!
I am not suggesting you all start making friendship bracelets, but I am sure you could find something you enjoy – painting, knitting, sewing (I would love to be able to make my own clothes!) – and something which will stop the ‘mental munchies’ from setting in. Boredom is a slimmers nightmare, so keeping your mind active definitely helps to keep you on track!
