And it is literally a huge leather box full of things to distract me!
I have said, on numerous occasions, that boredom causes me to think about things to do. And these things tend to involve eating – and it isn’t salad and fruit that I eat when I am bored! So one of the things which keeps me on track is my ‘distraction box’.
It sits next to my chair in the lounge, and contains all sorts of things to keep me occupied – and to keep my fingers out of the fridge! I have got books, nail varnish, face mask / scrub, embroidery silks etc – all things which take up time. I even have blank business cards and notecards and will often write little motivational quotes down!
Some would consider this as unnecessary, but for me it has been crucial in keeping my mind busy.
Oh – and if you fancy learning something new, try a free online course via Coursera. I have been broadening my mind with philosophy, psychology, behavioural economics, human nutrition, equine nutrition…they really do have all sorts of courses – so there will be something there which takes your fancy!
