I had crab for breakfast today…don’t you just love holidays?! Mr WLB continues to be horrified by the seafood I eat!
Today started early. My Dad was up at 5am and out of the cottage by 6am as be was heading home this morning. I got up with him and saw him off…only to see him back ten minutes later as he had forgotten his wallet! So he then went again, and I got a call earlier to say that he had arrived home safely. It was lovely to spend some time with him as I don’t get to see him often enough, even though we talk every day on the phone.
I also spent some time tying up with my Mum who was driving up today. The phone signal here is a bit dicey, so we had a few texts and ended up timing things really well – we were on the same ferry across the water!
It has been nice and relaxed today. Mr WLB and I headed back to bed for an hour or so after my Dad left. I ended up having a period of really vivid dreams – I dreamt that my sister had arrived with my niece and nephew and they were jumping on my bed and waking me up…they don’t arrive until next Saturday!
We then headed into town to pick up some new tyres for Mr WLBs bike – mine are still like new! We found a shop and an obliging local who fitted them for us. I was rather impressed with a local old boy today – I had stopped to let him pull out across me in his car…he then flagged me down and I stopped to see if he was okay. He said, ‘It’s not often you meet such a lady when driving…thank you so much flower’ – bless him…he called me a flower…and a lady – which is nice, as I got mistaken for a ‘sir’ the other day!
We decided to go for a drive at the back of Fort William as the scenery is lovely and it’s a favourite place for my dog. She stands up and looks out of the window when we go there and she loves a run at the other end!
It was lovely to see my Mum again. She loves it here just as much as Mr WLB and I do…it doesn’t feel like a holiday, it feels like home.
I am heading off early now as I want to catch up with Mum and watch Homeland!
Today’s food looked like this…
Breakfast: Crab, smoked salmon, wilted spinach, and cherry tomatoes.
Lunch: Pineapple, banana, superfree veggie soup, and beetroot!
Dinner: Scallops wrapped in smoked bacon with shallots, samphire, carrot, and asparagus.
Snacks: Fruit salad with mango, figs, Laughing Cow blue cheese (2 x HEA), and Ryvita (2 x HEB).
I have had a hungry head on today and had some fruit that needed using…so that was my ‘go to’ today!
Exercise: Nowt today…a quiet one.
