Today I visited a lovely A&E department in the picturesque Highlands! 🙂
And whilst I was there, Mr WLB was incredibly supportive…and went shopping for yet more fecking cycling gear! 😉
To be fair, I told him to bugger off…I am in a bit of a grump today. My foot is in agony. It’s the one that keeps giving up on me. Doctors have said I probably keep fracturing the small bones – which happened when I was bigger and trying to exercise. Every couple of months it really gives me grief.
The problem I have is that – a) I am on holiday, b) I have lots of activities planned next week with my niece and nephew, c) I am trying to keep up my training regime despite being on holiday, and d) I am in a lot of fecking pain and it makes driving and even sitting down a nightmare.
So if you wouldn’t mind getting the violins out for me… 😉
Sod it. The doctor checked it out and suggested an x-ray. The x-ray lady (I forget the technical term…radiographer?!) has horses so we chatted whilst she wiggled my foot into position – she had moved there recently from the Shetland Isles…another place I love! The doctor then said, ‘It’s great news…I don’t think it’s broken, although I am no expert and will send it to Raigmore within the next week so that they can check it and let you know if there is an issue.’
Great news? Great fecking news? With the pain I am in I wanted her to say, ‘It’s great news…it’s broken and we can fix it.’
I am now in agony with no idea of the cause…and there might be a fracture despite having it checked!
Feck it. The holiday will continue, as will the rock climbing, the canoeing, the clay shooting, the air rifle work, and the crossbow aiming next week! 🙂
I am going to leave it there for the night though as I am a grumpy bitch and in danger of ranting and pissing you off. I am also fighting my ‘poor me’ desire to eat every single piece of shite food in the vicinity. I am winning the fight so far…
Tomorrow I am driving to Mull so that Mr WLB can ride the island – which I will clarify means him riding his bike around the roads there…the ladies of Mull need not worry! 😉
Today’s food looked like this…
Breakfast: Hot smoked salmon fillets, wilted spinach, baby plum tomatoes, and scrambled egg.
Lunch: Smoked duck with salad leaves, tomatoes, Asian pear, and an apple.
Dinner: Smoked salmon and cream cheese salad sandwich (2 x HEA and 2 x HEB) with cherry tomatoes, fruit, and fat-free yogurt.
Snacks: Rice crackers (16 syns).
