What’s the story…
My favourite boats were on the way to Tobermory in a village called Salen. I love these old boats…they look a bit more battered than when I last saw them, and I didn’t have my proper camera to take shots so I made do with my Mums iPhone camera instead…
Mr WLB headed off on his bike. I had set him a gruelling 50 miler on his Garmin and made sure he was all togged up in waterproof gear and carrying lots of food! So he set off one way around the island and my Mum and I headed in the other direction…he had instructions to text me every now and again so that I could keep track of where he was…I didn’t hear from him once.
I sent a few polite messages checking that he was okay. I then got pissed off – and worried – and so sent him one that said, ‘I really do hope that you are okay…so I can give you a massive bollocking when I see you. Let me know where you are. If I haven’t heard from you within 30 minutes, I am coming to search for you! xxx’.
I ended up having to go and search for him.
Eventually I found him…and the first words out of his mouth were, ‘I couldn’t get a signal!’ So I let him finish his route whilst I warmed up some fleece gloves and a wooly hat on my car heater so that he could get warm! He enjoyed his ride but said how tough it was…we don’t have many decent hills near us, so the Highlands are a new challenge.
Mum and I had a lovely day. We looked in craft shops – I bought a couple of pictures…
I also bought some smoked mussels, some candles and soapy things, and went to the chocolate shop too. It was nice to get out of the cold and into a chocolate shop but it was incredibly tempting. I was very restrained but almost drooled at their malteser and crunchie rocky road cake things!
We saw a few more wild animals today too – a massive bird of prey that was eating a bit of road kill but I have no idea what type it was…and some more deer…
It really was a lovely day. I spent some time with my dog and took her for a little walk – my foot really is in agony, but I am trying to keep moving so that I don’t seize up or something – I love my dog…she’s currently settled by my feet, snoring like an old man!
Anyway – I am off to relax…
Today’s food looked like this…
Breakfast: Smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, wilted spinach, and cherry tomatoes.
Dinner: Linda Mc sausages, baked beans, tomatoes, wilted spinach, mushrooms, onion, and bacon.
Snacks: Peppermint tea and chocolate (14 syns).
Exercise: 30 minute walk on my poorly foot!
