Hmm…I didn’t exactly get the ‘welcome home’ that I was hoping for! 😉
I don’t know about you, but I really get the holiday blues. Coming back to reality is always tough when you have lived in a fabulous place and experienced things that you never thought you would experience. I will write more about these things tomorrow.
In the meantime, I need to moan! 😉
The journey home was a bit of a fecker. I started driving at 6.00am and arrived home at 7.30pm. It was a long day. My usually direct route home was not so direct this time. I decided to take a detour across the country to see Mr WLBs brother and his new baby son – our nephew.
It was worth the trip.
I am not a ‘baby’ person really. I adore my little relatives but am not maternal in the slightest. The little man was very cute…and very quiet for me which is apparently unusual! 🙂
Mr WLB and I had hoped to spot a bit more of the wildlife on the way home, and kept our eyes peeled for deer. We saw four dead ones…road kill.
We got stuck in traffic. We got stuck behind caravans. I got stuck behind a group of arseholes in a service station…I think the commented about me eating Krispy Kremes…I responded with, ‘The only place I would put a Krispy Kreme is up your arse!’ 😉
When we got home, the boiler wasn’t working – and still isn’t…it’s a bit fecking cold.
The house seems to have attracted families of spiders. Three in the bath. A big mother in the corner of the bathroom. A few of those skinny long legged feckers. So many cobwebs. I am on red alert!
We had no food in the house.
And to top the evening off, at about 3am it was raining hard. So hard in fact that I thought I could feel it. I really could feel it. My bedroom ceiling was leaking…courtesy of my shite roof. I woke up whilst Mr WLB and my dog continued to snore. I was moving books. I was rearranging furniture. I was finding raindrop containers and towels to catch the drips. It was not the best of nights…and yes, there were quite a few swear words.
As a result of our home coming, Mr WLB has been looking at rental properties in the area we stayed…and searching websites for jobs for me! 😉
Feck it. Home is what you make it. I am looking forward to pony cuddles and getting back to my training regime. I am looking forward to heading back to my Slimming World group on Tuesday. And I have a second interview to look forward to too this week.
I am also cheering myself up with a few episodes of Dexter this evening. Plus, the house is all lit up with candles. I decided to get the ‘special occasion’ candles out…you never know what is around the corner, so my expensive smelly candles have all been lit this evening! 🙂
Today’s food looked like this…
Exercise: Nothing! 🙁
