I was rather fecking impressed today – 10.5lbs of uselessness has disappeared whilst I’ve been on holiday! 🙂
This means that I just have 7.5lbs to shift to get back to where I was before the hormone/medication/junk food gain is gone…so 8lbs will take me to my lowest weight in goodness knows how long. It’s really exciting to think that I could achieve this before the end of the year.
From 43st 5.5lbs to 22st 9.5lbs – I joined in February 2012 but didn’t get my arse into gear until August 2012…so I’ve shifted that in just over 2 years and am pretty proud of myself! 🙂 Enough of the self-flattery though! 😉
I have had a look at the calendar and there are another 7 weigh ins between now and Christmas…and 8 before the end of the year. Historically, I have done well over Christmas. I stay on track and tend to have a loss during that week. I love a big roast dinner and find it easy to do this in a Slimming World friendly manner. It’s a bit too early to be talking about Christmas plans though so I will leave it there! 😉
So yes, a nice long holiday with lots of delicious seafood and smoked meats…and chocolate. You can eat well and still have a good weight loss – I bloody love Slimming World! 🙂
I have to admit to being a little anxious about the scales today. I knew I had been on plan. I had however eaten far more chocolate than I usually do…and seafood. The chocolate I synned. It was mostly handmade stuff and really good quality, so in order to syn it I compared the syn values of Thornton’s continental chocolates and used the highest value I could find…4 syns per chocolate. So I would save my syns and treat myself to a plate of 6 chocolates each time I went to Oban…which was 5 times – eek! I rarely eat chocolate now and so was a little concerned about what the results might be.
I guess it just goes to show that as long as you keep within certain guidelines – your syns! – and count the important things, that you will still get a good result.
My seafood was delicious. I enjoyed crab, oysters, lobster, scallops, smoked salmon, smoked trout, mussels, squid…if it lived in the sea then it needed to worry about being eaten by me! 😉
It was great being back at group and catching up with everyone. We had our Mr Sleek and Miss Slinky competition…two incredibly worthy winners who have both lost around 3st and the change this has made to their lives is amazing. It’s not about the big losses sometimes – although 3st is a hefty chunk to shift – it’s about the difference it makes to confidence, to self-esteem. I was so proud of both of them!
Anyway – I am going to go and grab some sleep now. I am shattered and my Internet connection has been a bitch tonight.
Oh – I had my second interview today. I talked too much. I get so excited and passionate about the work that I do that I find it hard to shut up. I started talking and 45 minutes later they said, ‘You’ve answered all of our questions’…but they hadn’t really asked any! I have a third interview next week though. Keep your fingers crossed for me…this would be an amazing opportunity for me and would present new challenges in terms of my healthy living – I would need to be far more planned and organised and will have to work harder to get my workouts in…but I still see it as a great opportunity to use my bought and paid for skills and experience and education. Plus, it means I can start putting money into my skin surgery fund! 🙂
Can I just say a massive ‘THANK YOU’ for your lovely positive response to last nights blog post. You are marvellous and your support means a huge amount to me. I write this stuff to deal with my emotions, but also to show that a fattie like me is capable of more than people might think…I want to try and show that you can have an amazing life now and that you don’t have to put it on hold until you reach your target!
Right, I really am going to bed! 🙂
Today’s food looked like this…
Breakfast: Boiled eggs and a banana.
Lunch: Couscous, Mediterranean veggies, and Quorn tikka chunks.
Dinner: Seafood salad – smoked mussels, crab, langoustine tails.
Snacks: Chocolate…not all that is in the picture…this is one weeks worth of syns and I am going to split it up and enjoy it over the week! 🙂
Exercise: Nowt today – been busy being weighed, interviewed, and then doing some coaching!
