Today has been pretty overwhelming. First up was this…
Yes, I managed to get an award!
As you know, I was 2lbs away from my target of shifting 300lbs before Christmas…then I put 2lbs on last week and thought it was beyond my grasp. I only went and bloody lost 5.5lbs!
I couldn’t believe it!
I had just been chatting with my wonderful Slimming World consultant about my night out at the Christmas Market…with the cheese board, and the pulled pork batch, and the chocolate brownie. To stay the same would have been a result, to lose a couple would have been thrilling…but to lose 5.5lbs – well, I practically leapt off the scales in glee!
Being fair to myself, I really did make some changes after the market – tonnes of veggies, lots of fruit, not so much pasta etc – I guess it was almost a Success Express week without realising it. So I think I beat myself up unnecessarily – I CAN go out and have a treat and still get a result as long as I am mindful about what else I shovel in that week!
Next up was the realisation that I was finally out of the 22st bracket. I hit this back in June but my medication blip and the weight gain meant that it’s taken me until the end of this year to get into the 21st bracket. A number I haven’t seen for a long, long, long while. To some it would be horrific, to me it’s a bloody miracle and a show of how determined I am to crack this without weight loss surgery.
Then my consultant gave me my award and her hubby had made me a special award to celebrate my 300lbs off and gave me a voucher as a ‘well done’. They are so lovely!
Of course, I put my update on Facebook and Twitter and have been inundated with supportive messages – it’s amazing – so THANK YOU!
Now, I have to cut it short as I have quite a lot to do before the festivities begin. One thing that I did yesterday was write out a menu planner for the next four days…I hope that this will help me to stay in control. There is lots of lovely stuff on there – smoked salmon, scallops, mussels, turkey (obviously!), salads, fruit and yogurt, soup…a meal out on Boxing Day and I think I ordered the fish…and a bit of cheese and salami as I couldn’t resist the Stinking Bishop from the Christmas Market.
Right, I am off to clean my lounge before my Dad calls in tomorrow – I am the domestic black sheep of the family…
Before I go, today’s food looked like this…
Exercise: Not much today – just hauling buckets of water across a field for the horses.
