It went okay!
I promised a quick update…so here it is…
Last night was a bit pants in terms of sleep – I did my little HeadSpace meditation and fell asleep really quickly…Mr WLB said that I was snoring but then woke up ten minutes later. And pretty much stayed awake most of the night. When the alarm went off at 5.50am, I was already awake.
So I grabbed my gym gear and headed off…but couldn’t open the car doors as they had frozen shut. So after a brief wrestle with the car I eventually got to the gym. I managed a 5.5k row which took me half an hour – and I topped up to an hour with the cross trainer and treadmill.
I then whizzed home to shower and change – and reckon that working out before a day at work is the best option…as I am popped now and doubt that I would make it to the gym at the other end of the day.
Anyway. I was able to start later today – arrived, had a drink with my new boss, met a few people, picked up my laptop, had lunch with some new colleagues, attended a meeting…it was all quite sedate.
Then I was told that I would be going to Sweden. Fecking fantastic – I love the thought of going to Sweden. Apparently it’s a meeting with all of my colleagues from the various countries we operate in. Apparently we all have a meeting and then it’s a jolly in a spa. Sounded good. Until I was told that they all run around in bikinis…hmmm…I don’t fecking think that I will be running around in a bikini.
So my trip to Sweden – which is a place that Mr WLB and I have been wanting to go to for ages – will be a bit of a nightmare if I am surrounded by my colleagues in bikinis. All of whom are stunning. All of whom are about a size 10/12. Feck it. I will see how I get on with them. I might just channel my inner Beyonce and think ‘fuck it!’…we shall see!
And that’s it for the night. I am really tired. All of this first day doing nothing is quite tiring. I am praying for a good night of sleep.
I haven’t had dinner yet – it’s turkey and veggies…but this was breakfast and my other eats during the day…
