Today has been eventful…someone tried to steal my watch!
First up though was my wonderful drive to work – across country to Burton on Trent…sunshine, sunglasses on, window down, music, and lots of singing…a perfect start to the day – plus an epic omelette that I made for my breakfast put me in a right good mood…I am easily pleased!
I spent the day in a small room with 13 men – 13 men who can be very challenging…there were some heated discussions. I love this kind of environment though and am more than capable of holding my own. A colleague who has joined my team for the project I am running told me yesterday that she really looks up to me as leader as I am so capable at defending my corner and putting across a good argument – it was probably one of the best work compliments I have had! So I got the guys on side with my project and now have 13 new supporters which is helpful. 🙂
We had a good day and a good giggle and a bit of a BMW session (bitch, moan, and whine!) – men do love a good bitch! And I managed to avoid the buffet food…a win all round!
I am a fan of Burton on Trent purely for the sole reason that it is where Marmite is made. I used to work opposite the Marmite factory and love the smell. I am a definite fan of Marmite…in fact, my favourite Christmas present was my personalised jar! Although I am not a fan of Coors Brewery – who once told me that I was too fat to work for them…so I took a job with another company and ‘poached’ some of their top team and best people…not that I hold a grudge or anything – fuckers! 😉
The drive home was more eventful.
I drove through sunshine, rain, hail, and snow…and a flood.
I also had someone try and steal my watch!
There is a little petrol station that I sometimes stop at, and today I had pulled in to make a phonecall and grab a bottle of water. As I was paying, the chap behind me grabbed my arm and tried to yank my watch off it – and all of this happened in a proper blur. I am not someone who likes to be touched by strangers, let alone grabbed and yanked over – so my instant reaction was to lash out…and I bopped him really hard on the nose! I can’t really remember what happened, but the chap behind the counter ran out, the guy staggered back holding his nose, and then ran out of the shop. The police were called, details were taken, and I am back home and all safe and well – all I have to show for my efforts is a teeny tiny bruise on my hand where he tried to pull my watch off, an aching wrist, and my hand feels sore! It really isn’t that dramatic…but it makes a good tale to tell. My only query is how a dodgy dude like that knew that my watch was a bit posh…it’s not all blingy or anything as I am not a blingy kind of girl…he was a watch savvy cunt face!
My Dad is raging, my Mum was happy as I managed to sock the chap on the nose, and Mr WLB is thankful that he didn’t carry out his ‘plan’ for when I got home…which apparently was to hide behind the sofa and then jump out and scare me – as he was supposed to be out this evening at a cycling time trial. I am thankful on his behalf as I think my heart would have given out…or I would have thrown something at him in fright! 🙂
On that note, I am heading off for a less eventful evening…
Todays food has been tasty:
Breakfast – My epic omelette…tenderstem broccoli, button mushrooms, spinach, and cheese.
Lunch – Chicken, avocado, olives, red pepper, and baby plum tomatoes.
Dinner – Ricotta cheese, raspberries, sunflower seeds, and almonds.
